Morning city tour of Buenos Aires named “The Paris of South America”. The tour starts in the area named Plaza de Armas today known as Plaza de Mayo, the historical, political and cultural center of the city. In its surrounding areas you can see Casa Rosada the actual seat of Executive Power (Presidential Palace) and the Metropolitan Cathedral. The tour continues all the way to the neighborhood of San Telmo, one of the oldest in the city, settled at the end of the XIX century by aristocratic families. This neighborhood, in which every Sunday the antiques fair takes place around Plaza Dorrego, keeps expanding its great architectural heritage. The area is also very active at night as it is the center for most of the tango parlors, “tanguerias”, restaurants and bars. Going further south you arrive at the picturesque and colorful port neighborhood of La Boca, with its famous street “Caminito” and the multicolor houses still being used today and the “cantinas”(small restaurants). Continue to the neighborhoods of Puerto Madero and La Recoleta. The cemetery of Recoleta surprises visitors with its rich architecture and with the important social and political personalities that are buried there, among whom is Eva Peron. Next to the cemetery is the church of Our Lady of Pilar, the former convent which today is part of the Cultural Center of Recoleta, the shopping area, Buenos Aires Design, and the exposition center, Palais de Glace. Afternoon at leisure.

Enjoy today at your leisure to explore the city. In the evening, Dinner and Tango show at the Esquina Carlos Gardel. The tango is the music of Buenos Aires. It originated in the 1880 ghettos which were populated by Italian and Spanish immigrants, Africans and gauchos. Each song has a story to tell about the city, its history and its people. In spite of its humble origins in the ghettos and brothels of the 1920’s, the tango rose to the salons of the upper classes. At “Esquina Carlos Gardel” one can enjoy excellent cuisine, an art nouveau style of decor an artistic offering of the highest level and a mythical atmosphere ideal for an unforgettable evening. At midnight, return to hotel.
Day 4
Buenos Aires – Ushuaïa

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ushuaïa. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

In the morning, departure to the Tierra del Fuego National Park, located twelve kilometers from the city of Ushuaia. There you can enjoy a ride with multiple panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, wrapped in the enchanting environment that provides the last foothills of the Cordillera de Los Andes before diving into the ocean and Andean-Patagonian forest, made up of diverse tree species -such as, cherry trees, ñires, notros, among others and different flowers, such as orchids, violets and senecios. A tour between bogs and beaver dams leads to the Lapataia River and Laguna Verde. Continue along the final stretch of National Route 3, which ultimately culminates at Lapataia Bay. Here, the early inhabitants of the area left their imprint in the “concheros”, incredible archaeological sites that provide interesting information about their ancient customs.
From here return to Ushuaia, making a stopover on the way to admire Rock Lake, which is characterized by the color of its waters, which vary according to the weather. After the excursion, return to the hotel. In the afternoon, depart to the wharf of Ushuaia where a catamaran is boarded to navigate the waters of the Beagle Channel along the Bay of Ushuaia, from where you get a panoramic view of the city. Traverse the north shore of the channel passing through the Archipelago Bridges and Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse (end of the world), where you can see colonies of many seabirds that nest on islands and cliffs, colonies of sea lions and various birds of the marine and coastal environment (cormorants, albatrosses, Petrels and oystercatchers, among others). After a visit to Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, the excursion continues towards the Estancia Remolino and Gable island. Finally, arrive at Martillo Island, where every year a colony of Magellanic penguins install their nests. After spending some time observing the movements and behavior of these curious birds, return to the city of Ushuaia, and after landing, arrive finally at the hotel.

Ushuaïa – El Calafate

Depart toward the Perito Moreno Glacier, located in the Glacier National Park 80 km from the city of Calafate. From the beginning the tour offers pleasant surprises. Upon leaving the city, along the right side of the road, you can see Lake Argentino with Redonda Bay, which offers an interesting variety of bird life. At the entrance to the National Park there is a drastic change in the vegetation which is rich in the special types of trees found in the Patagonian Andes: especially ñires, lengas and cherry trees, among others. The glacier is an impressive river of ice with a surface of 257 square Kms., a length of 30 kms. and a width of 4 kms. The height of the front wall ranges between 50 and 60 meters above the level of the lake. This frozen river descends from the continental ice field and causes in its slow progress landslides and explosions that make the glacier a wonder in constant motion. It is a show that impresses not only by its visual beauty, but also by the constant roar you hear from inside it. During the tour a walk along the catwalks on the front of the glacier allow a view of this impressive natural marvel from a distinct perspective.

Today, half day tour of two Wineries in Lujan de Cuyo with wine tasting. The vineyards visited are: Bodega Norton, Altavista, Cavas de Weinert and Luigi Bosca, to mention a few. Each winemaker possesses its own label that differentiates one from another and all show the essence and culture of Mendocino wine. At the end of the tour return to the hotel.

Mendoza

Today, half day tour of two Wineries in Maipú with wine tasting. In the province of Mendoza find the high zone of its namesake river. The farmlands extend onto the territory of the departments of Maipú. The agro ecological conditions are virtually perfect, and it has been chosen by dozens of winemakers who prepare the most exquisite Argentine wines. The visitor can tour the wine vaults of the department of Maipú, such as The Rural, the Museum of Wine, López or Zuccardi vineyards, among the most out-standing.

Mendoza – Puerto Iguazu

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazu via Buenos Aires (direct flight on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday). Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure.

Iguazu Falls

Depart to visit the Argentine side of the Iguazu Falls, located within the Iguazu National Park. With an extension of 67.000 hectares the park has been declared a Natural Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO. The Falls are integrated by 275 waterfalls that fall from an average altitude of seventy meters. The starting point is the “Central Station”, from which visitors can choose to take the train that goes to “Falls Station” or the one that goes to “Devil’s Throat Station”. From these points it is possible to carry out diverse excursions: The superior walk is a walk of 800 meters on footbridges, elevated over the surface of the terrain so as not to obstruct or/frighten the fauna. On this walk, visitors can observe the waterfalls from the upper part of the Dos Hermanas, Bosetti, Bernabé Méndez, M´Bigua Falls, among others. It lasts for an hour and the range of difficulty is low, there are no stairs. The inferior walk, is a 1,600-metre walk on footbridges elevated over the surface of the terrain, where visitors can see the two sisters, Alvar Nuñez, San Martín, and Bosetti falls and the Rock de la Bella Vista. Visitors can also have a panoramic view of the Devil’s Throat and the Río Iguazú Inferior Canyon. This walk lasts for two hours and the range of difficulty is moderate, with stairs.
